• Immanuel Kant, Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysic of Morals (selections)
• John Stuart Mill, Utilitarianism (selections)
• Friedrich Nietzsche, The Antichrist (Preface and Sections 1-19)
• Mini-lecture: Nietzsche's ideas about morality

Write and post your answers to:

• Study Questions for Kant
• Study Questions for Mill
• Discussion Questions for Nietzsche

(Your responses to these SQs will be posted into the SQs folder in our classroom.)

 

In the Class Discussions folder you’ll discuss these two questions:

• What do you understand to be the differences between how these three Philosophers decide what is right and wrong?
  
• How do you think their quite different approaches might apply to the torture situations we’ve been discussing?

 

These discussions should be started by Sunday, discussed Sunday through Tuesday, and completed by Wednesday evening at 8pm
