Second Assignment for Week One

 

 

The second assignment for this week involves discussing a case study that raises some key ethical questions: Should we torture the bombing suspect?

Please read the case description and then post into the Case Studies folder in the classroom your responses to the questions it poses. In other words, tell us what you believe ought to be done in the case, and tell us what your reasons are for believing that.

The discussion of this case will take place simultaneously inside the Case Studies folder in the classroom.

The discussion of this case can begin anytime on Saturday (i.e., even while we continue the “definitions” discussion through Saturday evening). The case discussion will need to be completed by Monday evening, Tuesday at the latest.

Footnote:
I hope you realize that the schedule for this first week is a bit irregular. Our weeks will continue to begin on Thursdays and end on Wednesdays, but the assignments will get much more regular by week three.
